Hard working, blue collar folks throughout Richmond, VA know Smith Iron and Metal for our “Get Weighed and Get Paid” drive up service… and naturally, we’re very proud of that! However, we hear all the time that people don’t know about the scope and history of our industrial materials recycling and services. So let us give you the overview:
We don’t just offer great services for the day to day scrapper – we’re here to provide a great service solution for our large industrial clients as well. We work with hundreds of companies (both large and small) throughout the great state of Virginia – from chemical plants, fabrication shops, demolition companies, signage hops, paper mills, auto dealers, to landscapers, and more.

While the basic premise for our industrial accounts is consistent with our drive up scrappers (IE: Get Weighed and Get Paid!), the process is just a touch different. We utilize a special industrial scale, that makes the weighing, recycling and paying process so much easier for our 18 wheeler and dump trucks from various business demolition sites, etc.
Check out our online photo gallery for images of our special industrial scale.
We know that the last things these drivers want to do after a long day’s work is sit in line with all the other traffic, so we make it easy! We also offer container services, dump trailers and flatbeds to our industrial clients to make the recycling process smooth, simple and pain-less.
At Smith Iron and Metal, we constantly work to provide an easier, quicker route to “Get Weighed and Get Paid,” so you can get back to doing what you do best. This is true whether you’re one of our loyal daily customers, a seasonal/weekend warrior or a long standing industrial account. We know you have other things you’d rather be doing, so we never lose sight of why you choose Smith Iron and Metal for your metal recycling in the first place!
